Endocrinology

Endocrinology is the study of the endocrine system, which is a collection of special organs in the body that produce hormones. Endocrine disorders include thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, and pancreas disorders, including osteoporosis and diabetes.  The main function of the thyroid is to regulate the body's metabolism.

A person may have early signs of diabetes if they show symptoms of:

  • Blurred vision
  • Dry, itchy skin

Thyroid Management

The function of the thyroid regulates an array of the body's functions.  If the thyroid is not functioning properly it may result in the following complications:

  • Graves' Disease
  • Hyperthyroidism
  • Hypothyroidism

 Thyroid hormone replacement is the most common method of treatment for thyroid disorders.
